Who we are

Engineers Without Borders is a non-profit acknowledged private help organization. We operate independently of political, religious or ethnic factors. Engineers without Borders was founded in 2003.

What we do

The goal of Engineers Without Borders is to improve the living conditions of the needy and disadvantaged people in the long term. In doing so, we focus on sustainable partnership-based support in the context of basic-needs-oriented development cooperation.

In humanitarian crises, engineers without frontiers provide short-term help to the needy, if we can rely on experience and existing partnerships. In the spirit of global learning, Engineers Without Borders is active in Germany. We inform and sensitize about the challenges of development cooperation as well as the holistic consideration of global contexts.

How we Work – Help for Self-Help

Together with local partners and people, Engineers Without Borders supports the development and expansion of basic infrastructure. Adapted technology serves as a mean to meet people’s needs.

An in-depth understanding of local conditions is a prerequisite for achieving our goals. In order for our work to achieve the desired effect, knowledge sharing is a core aspect of our activities. Through this we are able to strengthen our partner organizations and secure the success of our work in the long term.

Engineers Without Borders thrives on the commitment of its many volunteer supporters. Thanks to our wide range of interactive services, people from a wide variety of backgrounds throughout Germany can become active in the field of development cooperation.
