At our 1000th exhibition in the fall of 1999 someone wrote to us: “Wherever I go, you are here.” Now we are also almost always accessible in this house. We hope that the new location will become an increasingly better destination for many activities and people. We can contribute a well-stocked library with 11,000 books, various events and exhibitions and, if possible, practical help.

We started on June 27th, 1982 as the first peace workshop in East Berlin. Two years later we were able to open a separate exhibition/event room and the library. By the end of 1989 there were 310 exhibition and similar events with a total of over 1.2 million visitors. After 1989 the meetings, locations – to date 377 -, the distances and the countries – so far 13- increased considerably. Every year a new exhibition is created.

Thematically these range from A – anti-war museum – about the face of the other; Berlin in war and peace; end an beginning; distance from the troop; the most dangerous sickness; against the current; the mystery of reconciliation; The yellow star; Mother Theresa, find his place; Albert Schweitzer; the dream of another Germany; The attack on Poland; Where is truth about war to Z – destruction and redemption.

All exhibitions can be borrowed. For most of the events, there is accompanying material. We are pleased about every interest and every visit.
