The Western Sahara, often referred to as Africa's last colony, has endured decades of Moroccan occupation, supported by many Western countries. Despite international calls for independence and recent rulings by the European Court of Justice, the situation of the Sahrawi people remains deeply concerning. Many live in refugee camps in Algeria or face repression in the occupied territories.

On International Women's Day, the resilience of Sahrawi women human rights activists takes center stage. The event will address human rights violations and the non-violent methods employed by these activists in their struggle for the independence of Western Sahara.
